Once she got old enough to sit in the seat, we just checked it curbside and waved goodbye.

Trying to mentally gear up for this circus all over again with #2…Sigh. Up until now we’ve been (gate) checking an infant car seat for her (we found she does better and is much happier on our lap or squished in with big sister). But now that she’s mobile, those days are over.

We will be that other hot-mess-r-us family in the airport with you. Thank goodness it’s time limited!

PS: You couldn’t pay me to travel with our Britax Roundabout! Go Baby Travelmate or not.

These car seat keep them tied up safe and provide us a faith that our baby is safe. I have not used one of these but i have used Maxi Cosi car seat, which is also a very good product if we are going on a trip with our baby in plain.

I’m wondering on the Cosco, did you ever use it for long flights? 8+ hours? Was your daughter comfortable in it? We have used this carseat because it was provided when we rented cars in the past but it seems very flimsy and not very padded, just curious if it bothered her at all. Thanks!

Very few people have the money to buy a new car seat for the very occasional airplane trip. I think the best thing to do is exactly what you’re doing–spread the word so that in the future we can make more informed choices.

Bringing a carseat on a plane is obviously safer, so it’s good to know which seats fit ahead of time!
