Over at my other blog, I kept a running list of all the things I was thankful for during the month of November. I thought I’d compile them and keep them as a reminder of what a lucky lady I am.
November 1: Today I’m thankful for my Mirena IUD. I haven’t had a period in over 2 years, between pregnancy and the Mirena, and it has been glorious.
November 2: Today I’m thankful for friends.
November 3: Today I’m thankful for my mom and dad. They help out so much with Isla and love doing it. I never feel like I’m putting them out because they live spending time with her. Occasionally they cook and clean at my house, which is just amazing. I love them and am so very grateful for all they have done and continue to do for me.
November 4: Today I’m thankful for my husband. He’s a great father and husband. He cooks. He cleans. He’s smart and ambitious and a lot of fun. I’m glad he thought marrying me was a good idea, because it’s definitely the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
November 5: Today I’m grateful for Isla, who is a hoot and a half and my reason for not quitting on life most days.
November 6: Today I’m grateful for autumn, cooler weather, boots, and cozy cardigans.
November 7: Today I’m grateful for days when Isla sleeps through the night.
November 8: Today I’m grateful for caffeine, because absolutely nothing else is going to get you through a day after your kid keeps you up for well over half the night.
November 9: Today I’m thankful for cake balls.
November 10: Today I’m thankful for our many photo and video taking devices. I have been able to record so many precious memories of my daughter. I go back and look at old photos and video all the time. So much of her babyhood is a blur of sleep deprivation and busy-ness, it’s wonderful to be able to hold onto the things I’ve forgotten and to enjoy them again and again.
November 11: Today I’m grateful for naps.
November 12: Today I’m thankful for not having a migraine.
November 13: Today I’m [SO VERY VERY VERY] grateful my stakeholder is back in the office after a long vacation. Not that she can stop bad things from happening, but at least if I have questions about what to do when bad things happen, she usually has answers. And sympathy. And moral support.
November 14: Today I’m thankful for having more than enough.
November 15: Today I’m thankful for Fridays and the glorious potential of every weekend.
November 16: Today I’m grateful for salted caramel shakes and college football.
November 17: Today I’m grateful for ibuprofen.
November 18: Today I’m grateful for Dr. Pepper and leftovers.
November 19: Today I’m grateful that we are able to buy a beautiful home that will be the place where our daughter grows up and where we will bring home our next baby. I feel so very lucky that we have managed to make this dream a reality.
November 20: Today I’m thankful for Docusign. I can’t even imagine how hard it would be to have to completely rearrange my schedule every time I needed to go in and sign paperwork in person with all this home-buying business. Docusign is amazing. Thank you, internetz.
November 21: Today I’m thankful our appraisal came back right on the nose. HOOORAAAAAY!
November 22: Today I’m thankful for leftovers. Sometimes it’s tiring eating the same thing day after day, but then I remember, we’re lucky to have more than our entire family can eat in one sitting. It is an amazing, rare thing to always have food on your plate and to have never experienced true hunger. We’re fortunate to have so much abundance.
November 23: Today I’m thankful for fun days at home with my little family.
November 24: Today I’m thankful for warm clothes to wear and a warm place to sleep.
November 25: Today I’m thankful for ice cream.
November 26: Today I’m thankful for PicMonkey, which makes my life as a blogger so much easier!
November 27: Today I’m thankful for my job and my paycheck and all the security it provides. I’m also very thankful for the two paid holidays I’m getting this week. Thank you, work!
November 28: Today I’m thankful for sleeping in until 7 AM, beautiful weather, having the day off, getting to take a shower at my leisure, knowing I will have more than enough to eat today and someone else will be cooking!!!, my husband, my daughter, my family on the left coast and here in Texas, the coming holiday season and Christmas lights and more good food and so much abundance, the fact that we’ve been cleared to close on our house in less than 2 weeks, the wonderful gift that is today, and so very much more. My life is amazing, and I am incredibly fortunate. Today, I’m exploding with gratitude.
November 29: Today I’m thankful for Austin, Texas. It’s so good to finally be HOME!
November 30: Today I’m thankful for my health. I’m so lucky to be well and feeling good.
