A 3/2 finally opened up in our complex, so we’re moving! Hooray! The new place will have a full laundry room, 3(!!!) linen closets, an extra bedroom, a gigantic walk-in in the master suite, and about 300 extra square feet in total. Move-in will be April 6 or 7.
I think we’ve decided to use a moving company to move most of our furniture this time. We’re moving out of a 3rd floor apartment into another 3rd floor apartment. We love our friends. We don’t want to kill them. After all, who would babysit for us then? 😉
Moving with a newborn should be fun. We’ll basically get her home, then promptly have to start packing. We’ll be fine, though. This will be my 23rd move in 10 years, and this is the shortest distance I’ve ever moved in all that time. (A couple of my moves were for distances of over 2,000 miles. So.) I’m basically a pro. It’ll be great being in a new place, where we’ll have an entire room for Isla’s stuff. No more feeling like I live in one giant nursery!

Wow, moving with a newborn is not at top of my list of “fun things to do”. But I’m glad that you are moving into a better place for your family. Really, there’s no ideal time to move with a child. At least at this age, your baby might sleep through most of it. What part of Portland are you moving to?

We’re staying in the same area where we were already living. 🙂
